JSDA has auditions open for dance instructors.   Please email us your resume if you are interested!  We are also creating a list of call ins, so if you are only available some of the time, we are still interested!

Our core instructors are working professional dancers.  JSDA finds it very important to offer instruction from a teacher that is a current professional.  Our instructors will not only tell you how to perform with proper technique, they will show you!

Jonathan Silva - Creative Director, Lead Instructor

Jon's career didn't begin with dance.  He was a highschool cheerleader and a member of the elite PACE All Stars cheerleading team in Orange County. He was also a cheerleader for Orange Coast College, their team went on to win the 2007 national championship.  Jon is an NCA national jump champion. It wasn't until age 17 Jon realized his love and talent for dance.  Jon has studied many forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern.  Performances from coast to coast, Jon is featured in numerous music videos, commercials, theatre and film.  He danced and tumbled in Disney's Calfiornia Aventure's "Aladdin a Musical Spectacular".  In 2009 Jon was onboard Norwegian Cruiseline dancing and finished up that year working at Walt Disney World FL performing in their yearly holiday show "Celebrate the Season".   While in Florida Jon had the opportunity to dance alongside the Jonas Bros. and choreograph for the group LMFAO.  Most recently Jon can be seen on Nick Jr's "Fresh Beat Band" and Beyonce's latest video "Girl".  Jon has taught dance in many dance studios in Hollywood and the Southbay.  His extensive resume may be viewed at:

Vincent Harris - Instructor

Vince began his dance training at the age of 13 at Dellos Dance Studio, training in jazz, ballet, tap, modern, hip-hop, lyrical, and more, followed by more training and competing for his highschool's cheer and dance teams. After graduating he continued to compete for Orange Coast College and Pace Allstars. Vincent joins the J Silva Dance Academy after performing in one of Walt Disneyworld's annual Christmas shows. One of Vince's first professional jobs was performing in Oddyssey Dance Theater's producution of the Thriller in Salt Lake City, Utah. After that he appeared in musicals such as Aida, Annie, and Footloose at the Tuacahn amphitheater in St George. He has danced on the Zaandam, a Starliner for Holland America Cruise Lines. He was also recently seen performing in Disney's Electrical Parade and Highschool Musical 2 Parade at the Disney's California Adventure . Younger audiences may recognize Vince from dancing on the Disney channel's hit series Hannah Montana. Vince returned home early from his tour in Japan  dancing at Tokyo Disney due to the recent earthquake and tsunami.  You can find Vince on Nick Jr's "Fresh Beat Band"- his latest project. 

Rose Xing - Instructor

Rose began her training at age 5 in Birmingham, Alabama at Birmingham Dance Theatre. It wasn't long before she fell in love with the art of dance and began training and competing in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and tap. Rose received numerous regional titles and scholarships from conventions such as West Coast Dance Explosion, JUMP, Dance Masters of America, and Company Dance. Throughout high school, Rose spent multiple years assisting her mentor Kim Wolfe for West Coast Dance Explosion as well as the 2009 Vegas Nationals for John Crutchman and Alan Sherfield. Rose was also a member of the Vestavia Hills High School dance team and has choreographed for other local high school cheerleading squads. Eventually, she began teaching At Birmingham Dance Theatre. After graduating high school, Rose decided to take her dancing to the next level and decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in dance and attend school at Loyola Marymount University as a dance major. Though Rose is currently concentrating on school since moving to Los Angeles, she made time to cheer on her favorite basketball team as a Laker Girl. She is also a member of IB Modern hip hop group and has performed with ASYLUM Dance Company.

Della Hamby- Instructor

born and raised in Detroit, Michigan is the youngest of two older brothers and shares the same name as her mother. But that is not all she "gets from her mama! " Before Della fell in love with dance she was a scholar athlete, a cheerleader, pageant title holder, positive peer mediator, a print model, homecoming queen and proud "band geek!" As a teen, she attempted dance training at a local studio and studied closely with best friend Meghan Conway but eventually devoted her time and energy to extra curricular activities and sports.  

She began taking dance seriously once she was accepted into Wayne State University's Dance Program on a Talent Scholarship. Della graduated in 2007 with a B.S.  Degree in Fine Arts and since then has been a featured dancer on MTV'S hit series Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew Season 2, The America's Best Dance Crew Live 25 city tour, America's Got Talent,  live shows at Walt Disney World and Canobie Lake Park, and can be seen in national commercials, music videos, and hosting celebrity blog sites. She has also been blessed to work with with Emmy nominated choreographers including but not limited to Shane Sparks, Tabitha and Napolean D'umo, Brian Friedman, and Rosero McCoy and has traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Jamaica and Trinidad performing and being featured amongst well-known artists such as Alicia Keys, Musique Soulchild, Brian McKnight, Mario, Bow Wow, Mariah Carey, The Jonas Brothers,  LMFAO, Travis Barker, Slum Village, Donnie Klang, Katherine McPhee, DJ AM, etc.  

Della is currently living in Los Angeles, CA training and performing with A.S.I.I.D Dance Crew, The Asylum Dance Company and ACFCLA- Artist Community for Change LA. When Della is not dancing her favorite thing to do is laugh. Ha ha!!!

Devin Walker- Instructor

Devin Maurice Jamal Walker grew up in Modesto CA, home of Gallo Winery. He was first introduced to the cheer and dance world at the age of 12 where he was on a junior allstar teamed named Modesto Marauders. They were 2000 Jamz National Champs in the pom/show cheer division. After completing two years he then moved to Modesto Allstars pom/hip hop team. Winning multiple titles in the hip hop divison he continued to train in pom and hip hop dance for 2 years. In high school he became a fulltime cheerleader on an allstar team called Starstruck for 3 years, they won multiple national titles at Jamz, Cheer Power and USA. After high school he got a scholarship to the nationally ranked cheer team at Orange Coast College. They became 2006 UCA National Champs. Wanting to pursure a professional career in dance he  moved too North Hollywood where he is now living. He has worked with  Icarly, Bring it on 5, Diaster Movie, America's Got Talent, and most recently danced alongside Carrie Underwood durind the AMA's.
